On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, the Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Department of Sociology,Panjab University,Chandigarh celebrated International Day of Peace at the Panjab University, Chandigarh under the guidance of   Sh. Shivdular Singh Dillon, Secretary (IAS retd.).
The event was graced by the Chief Guest Dr. Amit Kumar, Dean Student Welfare (DSW)
who joined students, faculty members, and community leaders to promote peace, non-violence, and harmony.
A seminar, “Building Peace Through Red Cross Humanitarian Action towards the Nation,” featured keynote speakers sharing expertise on peace-building initiatives, humanitarian values, and the Red Cross’s role in promoting peace.
This was followed by a symbolic Peace Walk, “Marching Together for Harmony,” which was ended at Gandhi Bhawan,Panjab University where participants marched in unity, promoting non-violent conflict resolution, and a culture of peace.
The event successfully raised awareness about peace and non-violence, encouraged community engagement and reinforcing the importance of peace and non-violence with a lasting impact. Total Beneficiaries : 80+
