The *World Vascular Day* was celebrated in Chandigarh on *04th August 2024, Sunday* . *Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch, Chandigarh*  collaborated with *Vascular Society of India* and *Vascular Society for Limb Salvage* for the *Amputation Free India Walkathon*, where approximately *150+ volunteers* from Red Cross participated. The volunteers included *staff from PRC,* *enthusiastic Red Cross volunteers* including staff and students from *Chandigarh University(CU),Rayat Bahra University (RBU)* and *Lovely Professional University (LPU)*. The walkathon began at *Chandigarh Club, Sector-1* and concluded at the scenic *Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh*, where a *5-kilometer* walkathon commenced at *6:00 AM,* bringing together individuals from all walks of life to support a noble cause.
The event’s theme, “*Amputation Free World*”, resonated deeply with participants, emphasizing the critical need to raise awareness about vascular diseases, their risks, and symptoms. The focus was on educating the masses about the detrimental impact of lifestyle factors such as smoking, obesity, and lack of exercise on vascular health.
The event sent a strong message about the importance of prioritizing vascular health and adopting a healthy lifestyle. The success of this initiative paves the way for future endeavors aimed at promoting awareness and education about critical health issues.
The *World Vascular Day* celebrations in Chandigarh marked a significant milestone in the journey towards creating a healthier society. 
To commemorate the occasion, medals and refreshments were distributed to the participants.
